Sama Life Circles: Mindfulness as a skill we build together — for the real moments
Two live sessions a month. Eight skills over a year. One practicing community.
A skill you build, not a state you find.

You Know These Moments
When you snap at your team after the third “urgent” email. When you say yes to another project despite being maxed out. When your mind races through tomorrow’s to-do list instead of being present with your family. When the same frustrating patterns keep winning, and you find yourself thinking — there must be a better way to do this.
138 of you shared these exact struggles when you signed up for the Sama Life Intro Circles. I recognize them because I’ve lived them. That’s why I built what works for busy people committed to real change — whether you’re transforming your own life, leading a team, or building a community.
Why Meditation Apps Aren’t Enough
You can meditate for hours and still default to old patterns under stress.
That’s not a failure of effort — it’s how habits actually work. The patterns that run your life were built by repetition: the same response, in the same kind of moment, over and over. Phone buzzes → grab it → scroll. Email lands → react → fire off a reply. Difficult feeling arises → distract → numb out.
You can’t undo those patterns by sitting on a cushion. You replace them the same way they were built — through repetition in real moments, with a different response.
This is what micro-practices do. When the phone buzzes, you pause for a breath and ask “do I actually need to look at this right now?” That’s the skill of Awareness — disrupting autopilot — practiced in the exact moment that used to trigger the old default. Do that enough times and the pause becomes automatic. The new pattern replaces the old one.
Sama Life Circles teaches you eight skills, each one designed to disrupt a specific default — and the micro-practices that let you build those skills in the moments of your actual day.
The 8 Skills, and What They Disrupt
Each month of Sama Life Circles focuses on one skill, with two live sessions, micro-practices, and community to build it in the moments of your actual life.
Awareness — disrupt autopilot
Compassion — disrupt judgment, taught in two forms: ↳ Self-Compassion — disrupt inner judgment ↳ Compassion for others — disrupt outer judgment
Curiosity — disrupt confirmation bias
Energy — disrupt resistance and force
Appreciative Joy — disrupt negativity bias
Inner Calm — disrupt attachments
Focus — disrupt distraction
Equanimity — disrupt impulsivity
Plus two framing months: Foundations (how to practice in real life) at the start, and Integration & Celebration (choosing the right skill for any moment) at the end.
The cycle runs about a year, then begins again. Join anytime — you’ll experience the full journey within your first year, and the second cycle is where the skills move from understanding to embodiment. We never really stop learning, practicing, and deepening the skills to think clearly, choose wisely, live boldly. Just when we think we get it, we discover there is still more to understand, let go, return to ourselves.
How We Practice Differently
Two kinds of practice, working together:
Micro-Practices (30 seconds to 5 minutes) — like taking the stairs instead of the elevator. These literally rewire your default responses by interrupting the pattern in the moment it’s about to happen.
You start by building the habit in low-stakes transitions — while the coffee brews, between meetings, before opening your laptop. That’s where the muscle gets built.
But the real work — and the real change — happens in decision moments. Before you reply to the email that triggered you. Before you say yes to one more thing. Before you react to your kid’s tone. That’s where the old pattern would have won, and where the micro-practice gives you a different option.
A pause. A breath. A skill applied. A different choice.
Dedicated Practices (10–60 minutes) — like going to the gym. These build your capacity to see patterns and transform them. Sitting, walking, yoga, swimming — any sustained practice counts.
Begin where you are. If you can’t find new time to practice, transform what you’re already doing. Make your morning walk a sensory awareness practice instead of a phone scroll or a mental to-do list. Let your time at the gym double as a body scan. The point isn’t adding mindfulness to your day — it’s discovering it’s already there, waiting to be practiced.
Together, they don’t just reduce stress — they change how you decide, lead, and live.

Welcome Home to Yourself 🙏
This isn’t another program to optimize yourself or add to your already impossible standards. It’s the opposite — an invitation to stop fighting who you are. To let go of the exhausting patterns that keep you performing, pushing, and proving.
When you release what doesn’t serve you, you discover you’re already enough. From that authentic place — not from force or fixing — you naturally create a life that nourishes you. And when we’re truly nourished, we can’t help but nourish others.
This is how we change the world: not by force, but by skill. One default disrupted, one moment, one choice at a time.
With care,
